On Becoming a Hermit, Sort of ... Day 51

Day 51
(Wednesday, 6th May 2020)

So ... now, current received 'wisdom' says one should never start a sentence with "So"! 
Who said so? 
I don't know. 
I need to go 
.. and ask some learned people. Actually, I think it's more about the currency of 21st Century speech habits, memes that recur and circulate until somebody holds up their hand and says: "stop this abuse of our mother tongue!" ... or let's submit it to the OED!

Many years ago, Bernard Levin, a journalist, author and broadcaster, produced a piece of writing, a copy - actually a poster - of which one hangs on the wall in front of my desk. It is a brief history of a few, several in fact, well known expressions and sayings that were apparently invented by the Bard, William Shakespeare himself. If you cannot understand my argument and declare: "It's Greek to me", you are quoting Shakespeare. If you claim to be "more sinned against than sinning", you are quoting Shakespeare. If you have ever "played fast and loose" or ever been "tongue-tied", then you are quoting Shakespeare. 

So ... Hah! Language is a dynamic, changing, moveable feast. This is "the long and short of it". "The truth will outand so it will be till "the crack of doom"... Willy Shakes again!

Anyway, on to the day. Another great and very enlightening Tai Chi session with David Lipka, whose Mindful Tai Chi has proved to be a very helpful discipline. Today it was not only physically good, but therapeutically, meditational, mentally fulfilling too and it pieces together the different layers of how you should move most effectively in each stage of the 'slow form'.
